Lyrics:
In the beginning the Word was with God.
The Word was in the beginning and the Word was God.
All things were made by Him, nothing made was made without Him.
In Him was life, which was the light of men.
In the beginning (before all time, before anything existed)
the Word (God’s revelation of himself, the Living Expression) was with God.
The Word was in the beginning (ever present, always alive)
and the Word was God (fully God, in intimate relation).
All things were made by Him, (all creation, the entire cosmos)
nothing made was made without Him (nought birthed, not even one thing came into being).
In Him was life (the source of life, eternal life),
which was the Light of men (a Light to live by, for all the people of the world).
Christ is the Word, the expression of God.
His light shines on for ever. The dark will never put it out!
